In an informal gathering of Chennai based Social workers in their meeting in 2007 resolved to form an association in the name of ‘All India Malayalee Association’ AIMA is primarily a confederation of Malayalee Associations functioning within India with diverse objectives, including to represent all matters particularly grievances, concerns, demands, interests, rights, etc affecting a large section of Malayalees. Backed with the vision perceived by its devoted founding members and strong determination of dynamic leaderships, during this short span of nearly one and a half decades of its existence, the breadth and width of the nation witnesses various activities of AIMA.
Numerous enrolled registered-associations and thousands of dedicated individual members spread out in 28 states of the country are the preeminent assets of this organization, who are dedicated to serve their fellow citizens to serve the Nation. AIMA aims affiliates’ alliance for assisting the destitute and impoverished. Today, the name of AIMA has become little more than a synonym for charity. During its more than a decade of existence, AIMA could console numerous individuals by providing timely assistance during distresses. Spontaneous interference and involvement of AIMA QRT restores smiles and confidence in numerous families across the country.
Apart from involving in various philanthropic activities, AIMA is dedicated for the enrichment of Malayalam language, culture, arts, literature and age old traditions. Mathru Vandanam, AIMA Voice, Akshara Mudra Award, etc are some of the highly cherished activities of AIMA in this sphere.
Women's Wing and Youth Wing, two subsidiary organizations also function under the aegis of AIMA with a definite objective to empower the women and the youth and nourish and promote their desires for social services.

During short span of nearly and a half decades of its existance, AIMA also bagged prestigious Garshom Award for its efforts to spread brotherhood and unity among malayalees spread out in various parts of the country.
