Nature of the Award
Award given to ONE student from each states & Union territories of India
Eligibility
Malayalee students from across India who have cleared 12th Grade with minimum 75% marks in the previous regular semester are eligible for the application of award. The Award shall be made functional from 2021-22 semester.
 
CRITERIA
The AIMA Education Excellence Award recognizes the academic achievements of the students from 12th Grade. Academic Excellence Award are given to meritorious student having TOP GRADE in the previous academic year. Previous academic year means, only the regular courses of the previous academic year.  A student who has failed in one or more classes/courses in any of the last 3 semesters/years is not eligible to receive the Award.  In case of a tie, the marks obtained in Languages will be taken into consideration for merit calculation.
The percentage of marks obtained by the candidates in the 12th Grade examinations in aggregate of all the subjects, including languages (if required), will be taken into account. The marks obtained by the students in the 12th Grade examination in the first attempt alone may be taken into account. The marks obtained by them in the improvement examinations shall not be taken into account.
Normalization Process
By normalization process, highest marks obtained by the students of each board in that subject and the relative marks obtained by other students in the subject shall be determined accordingly.
Illustration:If the highest marks secured by the student of State Board in Physics is 100 and the highest mark secured by a student of any other Board in the same subject is 90, both the highest marks will be considered to be equal to 100. If a student of the other Board secures 60 marks in Physics when the first mark in Physics in the same Board is 90, the 60 marks will be considered to be equal to 66.66

Award Category
The Award consists of a Cash award, a Memento & Certificate of Academic Excellence and are given to ONE student from each states.
Application Submission Procedures
Students can apply online for the Award through the All India Malayalee Association (AIMA) website www.myaima.org. The interested students have to create a user ID and Password first, and fill in the nomination form as instructed and submit along with the supporting documents, to complete the nomination process. Entries will be accepted in English language only. Receipt of nomination means, nomination as submitted by the student. AIMA will not be responsible for nominations that are damaged/lost due to lack or lapse in communication on account of internet failure. The nomination form must be completed in all respect. Nominations must be finally submitted before 20.12.2022. Nominators are encouraged to submit additional documents that would help the jury to understand the full scope of the nominee's Performance.
Supporting documents to accompany the nomination
  • Copy of the Final Examination certificate/Mark sheet of the 12th Standard
  • A high-resolution photograph of the nominee, which will be used to make the official announcement and for press release.
  • Aadhaar Card
In case nominator fails to submit any of the above-mentioned documents, they may be disqualified from participation. Students can only apply from their residence state.
Application submission process starts on : Saturday, 19th November, 2022 Last date of Application :20th December  2022
Declaration of Award : Award will be published in AIMA website
By participlating, the nominator authorizes AIMA to use the content submitted as part of nomination, in whole or in part, and may use and display such data, which shall include publications, press releases, electronic posting to the website and any display format selected by AIMA during the Award ceremony or at a later point in time, for a period of five years in General.
Additional Information
Participants may be contacted for any additional information or / and AIMA may conduct field visit(s) to verify the information provided. Such information sourced from the participants will become part of the original application.
AIMA reserves the right to ask for additional documentary proof. If such a request is made and the participant does not comply within 5 days from the date the request is made, the Participant may be disqualified from participation.
Information provided by the participant will be confidential and will be used only for the limited purpose of evaluating the participant’s entitlement for the Award.
